Big Boy, AKA Shadow went home with his new parents last night. He will have two other Chi siblings, and be very loved and cared for. I suppose he will have to be a shadow for a new person now. It’s when we get to keep them a little longer than expected that we get attached. It makes it difficult to let them go at times.
It’s going to be a little while before we have another litter, but that’s OK too. Babe should be the next one coming into heat, and that will be in just a couple of months. We’ll skip Sable on her next heat, just like we already did with Annie, and Tia. It lets them recuperate from the strain of birth and mothering. I have never thought it a good idea to breed them continuously. I just can’t see that as a healthy responsible way to go.
It’s been a little more than two years since Babe had a litter. She always threw a lot of chocolate and white puppies. That may have been Gizmos’ influence, I am not real sure, but she does have chocolate in her family background. Her sister was completely chocolate. We’re going to try to get her with Teco, he has blue and longhair in his family background. I hope she will let him, but in the past she only wanted Peanut. Yep they do pick their mate.

Shadow will going to enjoy and feel the warmth of love in his new home.. :)
Shadow was such a sweetie, I'll miss hearing about him. I'm glad he found a good home with his own little pack.
I'm happy to hear that Shadow has a wonderful home! The new litter is too cute.. Hehe lovely colors!

@ Bhing, I hope so, thanks for the visit.
@ Cathy, Me too, I am always glad to here there will be other Chi's around to help them settle in.
@ Amber, Me too, the picture of the litter is from two years ago. Hopefully she will be giving us another soon.
@ Skitto Peanut and Chyanne, I know we're going to miss him too. We were getting pretty attached to him.
@ Femin Susan, Thanks, The flash on the camera causes the eyes to light up red. I have not figured out how to stop that yet. In real life, her eyes are green.
I hope you get to visit with Shadow in the future. I am sure it is hard to let go, but you made it happen for the greater good. That is so wonderful!
I'm glad to hear you found a loving home for Shadow.I would also like to thank you for your kind words it means a lot to me.
What adorable little dogs. I also would like to say Eric, it is nice to hear you being responsible for their breeding, That in itself is so refreshing (the fact you let them get a rest between litters) Two thumbs (or 4 paws) to you my friend for being responsible for man (and womans) best friends!
PEACE!!!
@ Fisher, Thanks.
@ Lapa37, Thank you, and I hope things are settling down for you.
@ Allison, Thanks, we try hard, and it's not always easy. They are a part of our family, and are more important than another litter.
Hi Eric, it's nice to be back here again cuz I love all your furkids; each unique with their own personality. Lika me..see? I had to do something about the joy and deep caring I sense from you and yours, so I nominated CHIHUATUDE for the Bloggers Choice Awards at http://bloggerschoiceawards.com/blogs/show/65210/. Now you go there and get your blog badge and put it up here so all your visitors can vote for you.
One thing that really impresses me and touches my heart is how you respect your furmamas concerning the birthing affects and that a mama needs a little time and her own space to recuperate. Plus, you have one of the coolest and informative pet blogs on the 'net.. :-)
I'll see you again soon!
Contessa ChiChi

Contessa ChiChi
Hi Eric,
I agree with Allison and Contessa that it's good to hear that you're giving your Mama Chi's resting periods in between breedings. If your Chi's could talk, they'd be telling you how much they love you for your thoughtful, responsible, and loving treatments of them. And if they could hug you like humans, they'd be hugging and kissing you, too. Hee, hee.
Cheers!
Tasha
@ Contessa, Thank you so much, I am honored. I went by and voted on yours too.
@ Tasha Thank you sweet girl. They do kiss and hug us every day, even sometimes when we're no expecting it.
