The Kids Start Leaving For Their New Homes

Sables Babies

Tonight the kids are 8 weeks old.  We gave them their second set of shots, and final worming last night.  That means they are ready to go.  Two are leaving tonight, Izzy and Tiny Girl will be leaving us.  This is the hard part, but we know they are going to good homes.  Sable will not be very happy, but she’ll survive.  At times I think it is more heart breaking watching the momma dogs as they see their babies leave.  Sable and Annie are the worst.  They just love being mommas so much.

Hi

Little Izzy, who was first born will also be one of the first to go home.  She has become such a pleasant welcoming face every morning, and in the afternoon when I get home from work.  The little white splash on her forehead keeps getting smaller and smaller, its almost invisible now.

Sables Babbies

They grow so fast, it seem like just days ago they were small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

One foot in front of the other

And then just learning to walk.   Izzy was always one of the more active, and now she has become such a lover.

Playing

Tiny Girl, who was always the most adventurous also meets me at the kennel wall every morning.  She has become a lover also, but then when they are held and loved by Blinda all day, who can blame them.

Weebles Wobble, then roll

Tiny Girl as she wobbled around learning how to walk.

Loner

Our shy little ray of sunshine, Sunny, will be leaving tomorrow I think.  She has developed into the cutest most loving little thing.  I think she may stay a little shy, but that’s part of her charm.

Sables Babbies

She was so cute as a baby, and just keeps getting prettier.

Sables Babies

Her and Papi had so much pink on them as babies.

Papi & Sunny

Papi is going to be so sad to see his favorite playmate leave.

I’ll update as the others leave for their new homes, or find new parents.

Hi Contessa, glad to meet you. I love your blog, and am very glad you got away from those nasty mean dog catchers.

I don't know how you do it. If I was ever going to breed a dog I'd have to give it up after the first litter because I'd keep all those babies. I wouldn't be able to part.

Hi Margo, That is the hardest part. You do get attached to the babies, and when they leave it can be difficult. There have been a few times we wanted to keep certain babies, either because of their personality, or their beauty.

Blinda and Eric,
We just wanted to leave you a quick message to tell you how GREAT Sunny is doing! She didn't cry at all on the ride home and as soon as we got home I took her outside and she went potty. We let her have time to get to know Star, our Golden Retriever, and they were instantly friends. Sunny very playfully chased her around the yard. When we went in, we watched her explore the living room and she was so frisky and happy! She's been going outside to use the potty even though its so cold! We have a little sweater for her, but she is constantly taking it off. :) She is eating great and sleeping good at night in her kennel, we call it her "house-house". She cries when we put her in there for the night, but only for about 5 minutes. She then goes to sleep and I get her up around 3am to go outside. We just LOVE her and she is the sweetest, cutest little sweeetheart. Thank you so much! Her vet had a family emergency yesterday and had to close the clinic, so we didn't get to take her in for her checkup. I am planning to take her in the morning. We will continue to keep you updated. Right now, she is running around my room barking playfully at Star, saying, "Let's play!" :) Merry Christmas!

Marissa, Thanks so much for dropping a note. We were just thinking about Sunny and Papi wondering how they were doing. I am so glad to here Sunny made fast friends with Star. It is very important for them to get used to their new siblings quickly and safely.

I am really surprised she didn't cry on the way home. Many of them can stress a little on that first car ride. It's refreshing to know that she is not a whiner, LOL.

Thanks for keeping us informed, and we'll look forward to future updates.

Well it is very nice to meet you lil Peanut, by the way you sure are a cutie pie. That is why mommy named me Peanut too. I was just a lil bit of nothing when mommy and my auntie saved me and took me to that human they call "the vet". I almost didn't make it, but I sure did cause I am a very strong and a very determined lil girl. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas Peanut and your humans too.
