Miss Sable Moon, poor girl, is as big as a house. I don’t know how many puppies she has in there, But she seems to get bigger each day. The puppies are pretty darn active too. Just about anytime you put your hand on Sable’s side, they start kicking and moving all around. The picture above, was actually taken last week, and she is bigger now.
One of the fun parts of breeding Chihuahua’s is the day of delivery. It never fails to amaze me, the miracle of new life. I could watch all day, and never get tired of it. The simple joy of watching each puppy be born, and take it’s first breath. Seeing the love of the mother so obviously present. Seeing the variety of colors and character even on that first day.

You would be surprised how quickly the personalities make them selves known. Many times we can see a personality showing itself as soon as it starts looking for that first teat. It’s easy to tell how they will eventually turn out, weather their going to be timid or aggressive. How friendly their going to be, and so many other things. Of course sometimes we’re wrong, but you would be surprised how seldom.
I can’t wait to see what they will look like. Sable and Peanut, what a mix.
Of course we will have plenty of pictures to share. Hopefully real soon.

Oh the poor little mommy! I do hope it is soon. I just know she must be so ready! You are so right about the birth day and how soon you can tell the personalities of the pups. I do miss those breeding days, but I am very confident that Chewy and Pumpkin do not miss being pregnant.
Can't wait for pictures.

@ Vixen, Yea the do look a little miserable. But when she has her puppies, Sable is the happiest ever. It's like she lives for puppies, and is very upset with us when we skip every other heat.
So far no puppies, we though they were coming last night, but it was a false alarm.
