Sable Moon is waddling around the house, in an extremely lovey dovey mood. You see she is pregnant, and due in about two weeks, October 20 th. Sable is always happiest when she has babies, and is one of the most protective of all the Chihuahuas we have. She does not want anyone to touch her babies, but grudgingly allows Blinda.
Sable has had some of the prettiest puppies. It’s going to be interesting this time, because Gizmo is obviously not the daddy, since he passed away over a year ago. This time it is Peanut, She would not have anything to do with Teco. We wanted her to breed with Teco, because of his history of Long hairs. I think his and her coloring with long hair would have been simply gorgeous. Without Gizmos Chocolate color, I wonder what she will throw this time.
As I said, we wanted Teco to be the daddy, but Sable had other ideas. We kept Peanut separated from her through most of her heat cycle. But when Sable would not have anything to do with Teco, even to the point of attacking him, we decided to let Peanut out and see what happened. Peanut wasted no time, and Miss Picky Sable was very compliant about the whole
situation, even almost forcing herself on Peanut. I am always amazed at how the girls seem to choose their mate. Annie chose Teco, Tia Chose Peanut, and now Sable has chosen Peanut. I wonder if it was like this in the wild with other dogs.
Today, Sable is waddling around generally just trying to find someone to love on her, she doesn’t have to look far. Between Blinda and I, she gets plenty of love. She can be somewhat forceful at times. She nuzzles under my arm, and throws her head back, causing me to have to raise my arm and pet her. She’s no dummy, and uses every trick in the book to get sympathy. She is known for sitting on the arm rest of the couch, moaning until I pet her. Such a drama queen. She even gets sympathy from Annie.

Sounds like Hollywood kind of love affairs your doggies are practicing. One year Sable and Peanut, another year Tia and Peanut. Hehe. Never a dull moment, it sounds like. Always an exciting love affair to me! LOL.

Hi Liara, Yes indeed we do have a large family of dogs at least. They keep us entertained.
Mom use to have a Chihuahua years ago, but mostly she had Pekes. She misses having puppies and dogs, even though she loves us very much!
Hello Gandalf and Grayson, We have a cat too, I'll have to post some pictures of him playing with the Chi's. I'm sorry your mom misses having her puppies around, they are so much fun. I know you two keep her pretty busy though, I'll have to drop a comment on our blog from time to time. You always have such interesting stories LOL.
