All right to continue with the introductions. Sable Moon is our beautiful red smooth coat girl. She has a very unusual chihuatude, being that she was at some point in her life, I believe, abused be a man. The reason I say this is that she is afraid of most men, and won’t let them get close to her. It took me a little more than a year to gain her trust on a limited basis. She now permits me to pet her when she comes to me, but I cannot go to her. Sable Moon is a Mama’s baby unlike anything you have ever seen. She climbs up on Mama, and starts to wiggle in under her armpit until she can force Moms arm up and shove herself in. At this time she demands attention, does not ask, demands. When Mama talks to her, she just starts squirming around and rolling over on her back, wiggling all over. She is missing her left rear paw; we were told that the vet accidentally pulled it off during her birth. She does not seem to miss it, and gets around just fine. Sable is one of the most vocal of the kids, at least the loudest when she is vocal.
Babe is our ADHD child; she is a blue with a smooth coat. She has the biggest bug eyes I have ever seen. Babe is one of the Daddies babies. She is the fastest, most hyperactive and most playful of the lot. She is fearful of nothing, and will challenged any dog she sees, believing they all want to play. She must always sleep under a blanket or sheet, with no exception. To that end we must keep blankets on the ends of the couch so she can crawl up under them, and usually dump them off into the floor. Babe is a sneak attack licker. If you are not paying attention, she will plant a big wet kiss right on your mouth. If we could only figure out how to bottle her energy we could make a fortune competing with all the power drinks on the market.
Teco is the oldest of the younger generation. He is just one year old, and weighs in at a whole 5 pounds. He is white and fawn medium coat. He has a coat like Annie’s’, it’s just so soft and silky you can’t believe it. Teco is the most laid back and relaxed yet loving and attentive dog I have ever seen. This seems to be a detriment to him as he sits back like a wallflower during the girls heat cycle. He is another Mamas baby, who get spoiled rotten, which does not help his forwardness. He crawls up on his Mama, and rolls over on his back then promptly goes to sleep. All we have to do is figure out how to break through his shyness around the girls, and we’ll be all right.
Then we have our Diva, Tia Marie. She is a fawn long hair, and knows she is pretty. We really should get her a mirror so she could sit in front of it and pose and primp. She is very loving, and talks on a regular basis. She barks once, and then throws her head around for emphasis and barks again. It is the one of the funniest things I have seen. She is 8 months old, and very playful, but must keep her hair strait and neat. She likes to stand up on her back legs and paw at you to get attention. She gets along good with Teco, but she really likes Peanut our smallest who you will meet soon enough. When you are petting or giving any kind of attention to one of the other dogs, she has to get right in the middle of it. After all She is the Diva, knows it, and must be the center of attention.
Now we are getting to the two youngest, Callie and Peanut. Callie is just six and a half months old and weighs 4 lbs 6 oz. She is a smooth coat whose color I can only describe as cinnamon sugar. She is very lovable, and timid. Wants to be friends with everybody. When she is playing with the other dogs, she will routinely roll over and be submissive while wiggling around with excitement. She would be perfectly happy to spend her whole life sitting on Mamas lap being loved and kissed on. She is very quiet and laid back, never aggressive. As a matter of fact we have a hard time getting pictures of her with her ears up. Just as a side note poor Callie is in heat, and we have t keep her separated from the boys. They trade off time in the kennel to be fair to all of them. She is not very happy about the arrangements, for that matter neither is Teco and Peanut, but it wont be for much longer.
Last and smallest of all, is Peanut. This little boy has got to be one of the smallest Chihuahuas I have seen. He is 8 months old, and weighs 3 lbs 4 oz. He is a smooth coat white and very light faun, with almost no hair. He had a rough start, when he was a baby; Annie adopted him and nursed him. He had an irritated colon, and Mama ended up having to hand feed him for about three weeks. You would think that he would be attached to her, but no he is definitely my boy. When I get home from work, he sits at the gate and whines until I pick him up and carry him into the house. Peanut is very active, and gives Babe a run for her money. He may be the smallest but is surely the most mischievous of the lot. He will jump across you, or just run over your shoulders to get wherever he thinks he should be without a second thought. He definitely does not suffer from shyness with the ladies, he will already be the father of Babe and Sables coming litters. That was funny, Babe the largest, at about 8 lbs and Peanut, less than half her size. We laughed to no end. He also has the smallest, funniest, bark, when you hear it you just have to laugh. Now that all the introductions are over, I will be posting happening among the kids that emphasizes their Chihuatude. So check back regularly for some comic relief.
